Your local team just got closer! - Your policing update April 2026 |
||
|
Good evening residents, I want to start this message by thanking all of you from within the community who have been completing the Humber Talking survey that was featured in the last message. Your answers have helped shape the way we police your area and will continue to do so. If you too wish to tell us about what is happening in your community, the details will be at the bottom of this message. Since our last post, PCSO Sharp and I have continued to walk the beat and meet all of you; we have been astounded by the reception and the number of happy faces when speaking to the community. Being visible has always been a community police priority, however there are logistical issues that arise when your local neighbourhood team are stationed nearly 10 miles away from their beat. Thankfully, we may have found a solution to that. We are pleased to announce that we have secured an office space within Winterton! Attached to the Juniors school, we are situated on the first floor of the Winterton hub on West Street. At this moment, we are set up and actively using the space to complete admin tasks, with the benefit of being right on our community’s doorstep. This has meant that we have been able to patrol Winterton and surrounding areas much more effectively and frequently, as well as develop a much stronger understanding of local occurrences. At this point, the office remains a space for the team to conduct admin, however is not yet open to the general public and does not replace a traditional police station; your local police station still remains as Barton Police Station on Holydyke, Barton-Upon-Humber. Whilst we will be working to utilise the space in the future for public-facing matters and more face-to-face activity, please ensure that any necessary attendance to a police station is undertaken via the official, designated police stations. As a result of this acquisition, you may have seen us out on foot or noticed our car patrolling around more often; this is the most requested action that we have had and is, as you can expect, one of the most basic, fundamental aspects of traditional policing. If you ever see us around, do not hesitate to stop us for a chat! We rely heavily on public engagement to know what is happening in the area; if you’re not out at the same time as us, to make it easy for you to provide us with feedback about the community, or report any crimes or concerns, we have 4 ways that you can get in touch with us: · Call 101 for all non-emergencies crimes (Use 999 for all emergencies) · Send us a message on here, My Community Alert · Send us an email to Winterton@humberside.police.uk (Do not use to report emergencies) · Fill out the easy 4-question survey below - This takes 1 minute and allows us to have a proper record, linked to location, on issues within your area; we use this a lot when identifying recurring problems. | ||
